Come See Me – A Panel: Sex Workers

SINGAPORE – I will be on a panel talking about sex workers rights on Saturday 15 June at The Moon, 27 Mosque Street. It is part of an event called “The Original Feminists 2.0”.

Books & Beer, Project X and Bras Basah Open presents a fundraiser-book discussion, panel discussion and book swop event with ice-cold beer!

Juno Mac and Molly Smith’s Revolting Prostitutes: The Fight for Sex Workers’ Rights will take center stage as we discuss the growing sex workers rights movement.

Panelists Vanessa Ho (Project Director, Project X) and Farhan Idris (Bras Basah Open) will discuss the book’s chapters ‘Sex;’ ‘Work’ and ‘Borders’ on the growing sex worker rights movement, situated within questions of migration, work, feminism, etc.

Sherry Shequeshaa (Human Rights Defender, Project X) will also moderate a second panel discussion on the LGBTQ community and sex work rights.

All these will take place concurrently with the book swap. Tickets cost $10 and the fees will go towards covering the venue charges and to Project X to support their work in combating stigma against sex work and providing support to marginalized sex workers.

We will be employing a sliding scale for the fee, so if you are unable to pay the full price, email us at [email protected] Email us too if you would like to receive copies of the book’s chapters ahead of the event.
